INTI RAYMI

The Inti Raymi means "Holy Feast of the Sun". Its historical origins dating back to the beginning of the Empire of the Incas in Cusco,(Perú) but also had special relevance in the northern Andes of Ecuador .  The most important in the Festival calendar of indigenous people of the Andes, It´s de most important festivity for the indigenous people in the different communities along Andean Region. It is carried out to thank Sun for the harvest and eart the fertility.

  

In Ecuador the Inti Raymi festivities are realized in June and July in the Andean Region principally, this festival is performed in appreciation of the sun God.
